If you've always been wanting to try Salsa dancing but never knew where to start, then head over to The Globe on 25 Front Street in Nanaimo this Wednesday January 7th and take part in the Intro To Latin Dance Course.  The admission to Social Latin Dance is $5 at the door and is open to everyone.

Nanaimo hockeyIce hockey fans can plan on attending the game on Thursday, January 15th between the Nanaimo Buccaneers and the Comox Valley Glacier Kings at the Nanaimo Ice Center.  The Ice Center features 2 NHL-size ice rinks and is located at 750 Third Street in Nanaimo, right in the heart of Nanaimo's sports zone, surrounded by the Nanaimo Aquatic Centre, the Rotary Bowl Track, Baseball Stadium and Rotary Field House.

For classical music lovers the Port Theatre on 125 Front Street in Nanaimo is the place to be on January 31st when the Vancouver Island Symphony presents Friendship - Ian And Beethoven.  You will enjoy Mozart's Piano Concerto no. 20 in D minor, and Beethoven's Symphony no. 7 in A major, along with a special symphonic 'Mix Tape' piece created by Jason Nett, the Symphony's former composer-in-residence.
