Winter sailing in Nanaimo? Who would have thought!  But that's exactly what the Nanaimo Yacht Club is up to as they head into their Winter Racing Series.  Even if you're not a member of the Club and don't have a rating, if you have a sailboat you can still join in the fun.

If good music from aspiring musicians is your thing be sure to check out this year's Harbour City Jazz Festival on February 6th at 7 p.m.  The Festival features outstanding performances from jazz students at the Barsby Community, Wellington and Woodlands secondary schools.

In addition to some outstanding student talent, this year's Festival will have guest artist Brad Turner, the accomplished and in-demand Vancouver-based composer, pianist and trumpeter.  The Festival takes place at the Port Theatre at 125 Front Street in Nanaimo.
