Nanaimo Farmers Markets

As a Nanaimo Resident I think it is important to support our local farming community.  The best way to do that is to shop at Nanaimo Farmers markets.

There are a number of Farmers markets in Nanaimo and surrounding areas.  I visited the BC Association of Farmers Markets' website to get information on each of the markets.  Please see below. The following Nanaimo Farmers Markets are easily accessible to Nanaimo residents:

Errington Farmers Market, at the Errington Community Park, Errington, BC.  Every Saturday 10am to 1pm May 1st to September 25th.

This market is in a park with a wonderful canopy of mature trees. Our coffee shop serves fresh organic coffee, hot cinnamon buns and lots of homemade goodies. There is all of the spray-free produce that's in season, eggs, plants, cut flowers, baked goods, jams, homemade soap, seasoning rubs, wool and locally made crafts (stained glass, pottery, woodworkers, jewellery, tie dye and more).  I for one have enjoyed their cinnamon buns.  In fact, you need to line up for them because they are so tasty and popular.  This market is well worth the drive to Errington.

Gabriola Island Farmers Market, Agriculture Association Hall, 465 South Road, Gabriola Island, BC.  Sat 10-noon
